Fare and Limit Zones
The Central Saxony Public Transport Association (VMS) consists of 35 fare zones and one external fare zone, Nº. 49 (Nossen). The Chemnitz City Council area is covered completely by Fare Zone 13. The Rural Council areas are divided into several zones.
In order to work out the fare, it is important to know whether you are travelling in just one zone or through several zones.
To do this, count the zones on the detailed fare zone plan that your bus, tram or railway service travels through from your departure point to your destination. Choose your ticket type depending on the number of zones. Then get on board and off you go! Our Customer Service staff at the Central Travel Office will be pleased to help you.
Of course, at any time during the validity period of the ticket you choose, you can change services as often as you like or break your journey.
